We are actively seeking a highly skilled and qualified Commercial Financial Manager to join our dynamic Commercial Finance team within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Commercial Directorate. This pivotal Senior Executive Officer (SEO) role is designed for a finance professional who will provide critical support in financial negotiations and conduct thorough financial viability assessments for major contractors. A primary focus of this position will involve dedicated support for the Health workstreams within the Commercial Finance team, ensuring sound financial stewardship and strategic insight across significant public initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial finance engagement for major program procurements, which involve contractual values ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of pounds.
- Cultivate and manage multiple strategic relationships across DWP, including with senior stakeholders in Finance, Commercial, and Policy communities, to articulate and advance the commercial finance strategic direction.
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to commercial teams, providing expert guidance during the management of supplier relationships and commercial agreements.
- Oversee the delivery of in-depth financial analysis and cost intelligence projects for high-value procurement activities, including the assessment of supplier financial viability.
- Provide robust support for comprehensive commercial finance engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Offer specialized advice and informed guidance to stakeholders and the broader organization on critical financial areas such as payment models, investment decisions, make-or-buy analyses, 'should cost' evaluations, financial due diligence, and contractual terms.
